Vaccinations
Determining which vaccines should be administered requires an understanding of the sources of infection, how infections are transmitted, the knowledge of the patient’s age, lifestyle, and environment and how each relates to risk of exposure and likelihood of disease. We believe vaccine protocols should be tailored to the specific needs of the patient. We recommend vaccinating only against infectious agents to which the animal has a realistic risk of exposure, and vaccinate each pet no more frequently than necessary.

| Dentistry
Our clients have become increasingly aware that dental health is as important for their pets as it is for them. Dental disease causes bad breath, pain, and infection in the mouth which can lead to weight loss and infection in other parts of the body. Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, and teeth extractions. We have an effective new way to reduce plaque and tarter formation by applying a gel to the teeth after cleaning that creates an invisible barrier that prevents bacteria from attaching to your pet’s teeth.
If you are bringing in a pet for a dental or surgical procedure which requires anesthesia we request that you complete an Authorization for Professional Services form which offers several optional services that increase the margin of safety and comfort for our patients and their owners.
An additional form titled Authorization for Dental Extractions informs us of your wishes regarding teeth that in the doctor’s opinion need to be extracted.
We offer blood testing prior to anesthesia, IV catheter placement, microchip ID implantation, and pain management options for your consideration. More information is available on the forms themselves. To save time you may download the Authorization for Professional Services form as well as the Authorization for Dental Extractions form and bring the completed forms with you on the morning of your scheduled appointment. We can also provide you with a copy of these forms to fill out when you drop off your pet.

Microchip Identification
We offer this advanced pet identification and retrieval system. A microchip with a unique identification code is implanted between the shoulder blades of the pet. When a lost pet is found, it can be scanned at an animal shelter or veterinary hospital for this coded ID number that is linked by computer to the pet owner thereby making it possible to reunite you with your lost pet quickly.
If you are bringing in a pet for a dental or surgical procedure that requires an anesthetic we request you complete an anesthetic authorization form which offers several optional services which increase the margin of safety and comfort for our patients and their owners. The chips can be implanted at any time, but doing so while your pet is already anesthetized makes it convenient and totally pain free. To save time you may download this Authorization for Professional Services form and bring the completed form with you on the morning of your scheduled appointment. We can also provide you with a copy of the form to fill out when you drop off your pet.

We consult with specialists, either in-hospital (ultrasound, orthopedics) or via telephone (cardiology, pathology, internal medicine) to help us with diagnosis and treatment of complicated cases. Ultrasound
This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to enable our veterinarians to examine specific internal organs. Through the use of ultrasound examination, we can diagnose kidney and bladder stones, gall bladder stones, masses, tumors, and other changes in a variety of organs. Pregnancy exams are also available with this technology. Ultrasound is a painless and risk-free procedure that often enables us to diagnose problems that previously required surgery for diagnosis. It is an invaluable tool for the modern veterinary practice.

Endoscopy
This procedure involves the use of a small, flexable, tubular instrument (an endoscope) which has a tiny fiber optic or video camera at the end. With the help of an endoscope we are able to visually examine the interior of the stomach, intestines, and airways to diagnose conditions that affect these organs, remove foreign bodies and take biopsies if necessary.
